Main Activities of COMECO

10.1997 CPMEC reached to its strategic decision of setting up a regional organization in the Persian Gulf as a base to provide logistic services and support for its projects in the Middle East and Africa.
12.1997 A Feasibility Study Report was submitted to the highest Management of CNPC & CPMEC for approval after an extensive site visits and investigations performed in Bahrain, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
02.1998 CNPC & CPMEC approved the proposal of the company registration. The new company was named COMECO (China Oil Material & Equipment Company). Mr.Xinghe Liu was elected as Chairman of COMECO.
03.1998 Jennifer Zhang was appointed as Managing Director and Yumin Yang as Project Manager for Middle East Market. Both started COMECO set-up procedures with the assistance of legal consultant KPMG Bahrain.
04.1998 COMECO E.C was registered in Bahrain Ministry of Commerce with Company Registration No. CR. 40488. The office was located in Villa 27, Entrance 2187, Wali Ahd Highway, Block 1014, Hamala, Bahrain.
05. 1998 COMECO started providing the procurement services to its customers in Sudan project soon after its set-up. The first shipment of 5,000 tons cargo was delivered.
06. 1998 COMECO started providing financial services to customers. Since then and up to 2001, with total of 70 Million US Dollars banking turn-over was achieved.
09.1998 COMECO started to provide transportation service to its customers. Up to June 2000, 50,000 MT of different cargoes with total value over 40 Million US Dollars have been transported by sea, air and land to the remote project sites in Africa and Middle East.
11.1998 COMECO was appointed as the sole agent for Systron Power Systems PTE Ltd. (Singapore) for China, Middle East and Africa.
02.1999 COMECO was appointed as the sole agent for Orban Industries Ltd. (Canada) for Africa and Middle East.
08. 1999 COMECO was appointed by Khartoum Refinery Co Ltd. as the sole agent for inquiries and procurement for the Middle East, Europe and Africa.
09. 1999 COMECO obtained dealership authority from Abdullah Hashim Industrial Gases and Equipment Co. Ltd (Saudi Arabia) and Basic Chemical Industries Ltd (Saudi Arabia).
10.1999 Mr. Yong Zhou joined COMECO as Project Manager for African Market.
11. 1999 COMECO obtained dealership authority from BDH Laboratory Supplies (UK) and Saudi Arabia Lubricating Oil Co. (Saudi Arabia).
11.1999 COMECO moved to new location situated in Tubli, Bahrain.
12.1999 COMECO's total turn over reached up to 10 Million US Dollars.
05.2000 Ernst & Young finalized COMECO's audit reports for the Fiscal Years 1998 & 1999.
07.2000 Louise Lu joined COMECO as Commercial Manager.
08.2000 COMECO set up its homepage on the internet.

10.2001 COMECO EUROPE B.V. was registered in the Netherlands.
02.2002 COMECO moved to its new Office Location in Bahrain.
02.2002 COMECO Europe B.V. come into operation in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Mr.Yong Zhou and Ms. Louise Lu were transferred to COMECO Europe B.V. as Project Manager and Commercial Manager
09.2002 Ms.Rachel Ren joint COMECO E.C. as Commercial Manager.
04.2003 Mr.David Wang joint COMECO E.C. as Project Manager.
09.2003 Ms.Maggie Su joint COMECO E.C. as Project Manager.
